ST. JAMES REGIONAL SCHOOL'S ART CLUB
Instructors: Art Teacher Amy Small assisted by Donna Kowal
St. James Regional School's Art Club is an afterschool art program which is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. The Art Club is a 14-week course which runs from early October through early April. It is broken up into a 7-week Fall Session and a 7-week Spring Session and is held in the Art Room from 2:45 pm - 4:00 pm on Fridays.
OBJECTIVES:
1) The Art Club provides a fun and supportive social setting through which to promote enthusiasm for art by helping students develop and enhance their artistic skills.
2) The Art Club aims to help students build a portfolio which can be presented for a high school interview (for those students wishing to pursue Art in high school).
3) The Art Club provides opportunities for students to explore art media and art techniques that are not covered in their regular Art Class.
SUPPLIES:
At the first Art Club meeting, students will be given a list of Art Supplies which they are required to purchase. Having their own art materials enables students to practice at home the skills taught each week in Art Club.
COST:
Sessions are offered at a cost of $15 per week (CASH ONLY) to be handed in at each session.
SIGNING UP:
Applications for Art Club are sent home in mid-September with all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Those wishing to register for Art Club are asked to complete and return the application by the assigned due date. Parent/Guardian's permission is required. Students who sign up for Art Club commit themselves to the full 14-session course. Space is limited. Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
